State Duma Approves Law on Penalties for Illegal Use of Foreign Workforce (Russia)

The State Duma, the Russian parliament’s lower house, has approved a law on penalties for illegal use of foreign workforce.

Foreign nationals and stateless citizens violating rules of residence in this country will pay a penalty equivalent to 20-50 minimum wages (with the minimum wage equalling Rbs 100) in penalty calculation) and may be officially expelled from this country.

For the legal entities, which unlegally use foreign workforce, the administrative liability can be established in the form of a penalty equivalent to 2, 5 - 8000 minimum wages, or suspension of their activity up to 90 days.
